House of Matching Colours @ Get In the Haze exhibition
On behalf of quartier21/MQ we are pleased to invite you to the exhibition opening of “GET IN THE HAZE” on May 19, 2011 at 7pm at freiraum quartier21 INTERNATIONAL.
The exhibition “GET IN THE HAZE” curated by Lliure Briz (ESP) dares to venture into the hazy realm where the two disciplines comingle, celebrating the hybrid state with a presentation showcasing young fashion creations, videos, photographs, installations, sculptures, and textile art.
Participating fashion designers and artists include Johan Akesson (SWE) & Ayumi Mori (JAP), Irene Alvarez (ESP), Rani Bageria (AUT), Bissy Bunder (AUT/POL/BEL/GER), Andrea Cammarosano (ITA), Lluis Corujo Besga (ESP), Michael Dans (BEL), Narelle Dore (AUS), Elise Gettliffe (FRA), Bart Hess (NED), Frederik Heyman (BEL), House of Matching Colours (ARG), Jean-Paul Lespagnard (BEL), LVMM (ESP/GBR/GER/ITA/SUI), Mariel Manuel (SUI/USA), Yuima Nakazato (JAP), Lars Paschke (GER), Pelican Avenue/Pelican Video (AUT/BEL), Daniel Sannwald (GER), Johanna Trudzinski (GER), and Pierre-Antoine Vettorello (FRA) & Felix Godefroy (FRA). Several of them will be working and living in Vienna in the coming months as part of the quartier21 Artist-in-Residence program.
Exclusively, the exhibition opening features the happening performance “Thanx God” by the fashion collective LVMM.
On May 20, 2011 at 6pm the recognized fashion photographer Daniel Sannwald (GER) presents his first monograph “Pluto und Charon” at Walther König bookshop at quartier21/MQ in cooperation with SHOTVIEW PHOTOGRAPHERS MANAGEMENT GMBH. The book contains a selection of more than 75 photographs representing Sannwald’s fashion work from the past five years, including contributions to publications such as 032c, Dazed & Confused, i-D, Vogue Homme Japan, 10+, and collaborations with stylists such as Nicola Formichetti, Katie Shillingford, Hector Castro, Robbie Spencer und Tamara Rothstein. Sound is provided by Sebastian Schlachter (Vienna Wildstyle/FM4 La Boum Deluxe).
“GET IN THE HAZE” is taking place in conjunction with the tenth anniversary of the MuseumsQuartier Wien. An accompanying program will feature performances, film screenings, music sets, lectures, and workshops for kids and young adults.
